Ingegerd Björklund


is a PhD, an Opera Singer, a Music Director, an Author and a Painter, who works world-wide. She holds seven Academic degrees from her studies in Sweden, London, Rome and Vienna. Ingegerd Björklund has been called "the most unique Soprano in the world", because she is not only an excellent singer, but also a fine pianist and a marvellous concert organist with organ improvisation as her speciality. Ingegerd Björklund sings in 26 languages. The largest audiences she has had in China, where a billion people could listen to her singing even in Mandarin, on the national TV. In the legendary Carnegie Hall, New York Ingegerd Björklund wrote history as she, as the first Soprano, even accompanied her recital herself on the grand piano. In Westminster Abbey, London Ingegerd Björklund has proved that she is both an extra ordinary concert organist and a great singer. At many occasions she has represented Sweden abroad and she became the first Swedish singer to perform both in Seoul, South Korea and in New Delhi, India. In Seoul she even sang in the Korean language. In Japan Ingegerd Björklund has been singing in Japanese. As the only Swedish artist Ingegerd Björklund sang, even in Greek, as the Official Closing Ceremony in Thessaloniki, Greece took place and the Cultural Capital of Europe was taken over by Stockholm. It can also be mentioned that among other great cities, where Ingegerd Björklund has been performing  are Buenos Aires, Argentina, Montevideo, Uruguay and Quito, Ecuador. She has sang with many orchestras in the world and a great number of her performances have been broadcasted on TV and in radio.

Ingegerd Björklund works with several large projects. One of them is focusing on the famous Singer Christina Nilsson, who conquerred the musical world during the latter part of the 19th century. The elder Swedish Soprano was the subject of Ingegerd Björklund's doctoral dissertation. During 2025-2026 Ingegerd Björklund will offer great shows, entitled  The Irresistible - Christina Nilsson and Dr. Björklund will even sing Songs from the elder Soprano's repertoire. Some of the shows will also include art exhibitions. A film will be made in English, based of Ingegerd Björklund's manuscript.

On the unique album Tongivande svenska kvinnor, which means Famous Swedish Female Voices, Ingegerd Björklund sings Songs by a number of influential women. The Swedish-born  opera composer Ingeborg von Bronsart's music resounded in the present-day Germany, while Helena Munktell became the first Swedish female opera composer to get an opera performed in Stockholm. The composer Laura Netzel was an early organizer of public concerts in the Swedish capital, while Elfrida Andrée became the first Cathedral Organist in Sweden. Ingegerd Björklund's shows, entitled Famous Swedish Female Voices  have become very popular and she even offers art exhibitions on the same theme. A film, based on Dr. Björklund's manuscript, is in progress.

In the book Med befriad röst - en biografi om Wendela Hebbe, Ingegerd Björklund draws a 

portrait of the first Swedish employed female  journalist. The challenges were many for a single woman in a time of transformation. Women's history was writtten. Ingegerd Björklund offers great shows based on the theme With a Liberated Voice. Included are some Songs by Wendela Hebbe. A film is in progress.

Nobel Resound is a brand new album, which was released in February 2025. On this exclusive album Ingegerd Björklund sings, to her own piano accompaniment, Songs, based on lyrics written by some Nobel Prize Laureates in Literature. The album features 13 Nobel Prize Laureates, representing 90 years of Nobel Prize History. Ingegerd Björklund has also set music to a poem by Alfred Nobel -  A Riddle. One the album Nobel Resound Ingegerd Björklund sings in seven languages and it is opened with Songs, based on poems by the first Nobel Prize Laureate in Literature, Sully Prudhomme, who was awarded in 1901. The first female Nobel Prize Laureate in Literature was the Swedish author Selma Lagerlöf. Ingegerd Björklund has set music to her poem Rottneros. The first Asian Nobel Prize Laureate in Literature was Rabindrath Tagore. The Indian author was also the composer of thousands of Songs and on this album Ingegerd Björklund sings Tagore's Song Ekti nomoshkare in Bengali. Gabriela Mistral also composed some songs and Dame la mano can be found on this album. It also contains Songs based on lyrics by Bjornstjerne Bjornson, Paul von Heyse, Verner von Heidenstam, William Butler Yeats, Erik Axel Karlfeldt, Pär Lagerkvist and Harry Martinsson. Ingegerd Björklund has even set music to words by Sir Winston Churchill and Nadine Gordimer.


Ingegerd Björklund offers great shows one the theme Nobel Resound, where she includes many of the Songs, which can be found on the current album. Dr. Björklund's shows can be combined with her art exhibitions of the same theme.

Based on Dr. Ingegerd Björklund's research in the archieves at The Royal Castle in Stockholm,  Sweden, an extraordinary album with Swedish Royal Music was released. On the album Bernadottemusik Ingegerd Björklund sings Songs and plays Piano music composed by King Oscar I, Queen Joséphine, Prince Gustaf, Princess Eugénie, Prince August and Princess Thérèse. It can be assumed that the music found on this album has been recorded for the first time.This LIVE recoring was made at Örebro Castle, a historic place for the Swedish Royal Family. It has to be noted that on this album Ingegerd Björklund sings the Songs to her own piano accompaniment. Regarding the album Bernadottemusik it has been said that it is a very interesting collection of rare music, which Ingegerd Björklund performs to perfection.

In September 2023 His Majesty Carl XVI Gustaf of Sweden celebrated 50 years at the Swedish Throne. In connection with the celebrations Ingegerd Björklund was scheduled to participate with a concert at The Royal Castle in Stockholm. Unfortunately, the performance could not take place, due to new security risks in Sweden, so the castle was closed. Hopefully Ingegerd Björklund will be able to perform the programme at The Royal Castle in 2026. On the album 500-årigt VASA-lopp Ingegerd Björklund has recorded a number of Songs, which have been composed by members of the Swedish Royal Family and she has also set music to poems written by some Royalties. Ingegerd Björklund has even composed a Song, based on all the mottos, which the Majesties in Sweden have been using during 500 years. Certainly, on the album 500-årigt VASA-lopp one can find a very rare collection of Royal music, which Ingegerd Björklund sings to her own piano accompaniment.


It has to be mentioned that Ingegerd Björklund offers great shows, based on Royal Swedish Music. The shows can be combined with art exhibitions on the same theme.

Ingegerd Björklund is also an excellent Concert Organist and she has performed at many of the greatest organs in the world, including a concert in the Westminster Abbey, London.


With the album Voix Céleste Dr. Ingegerd Björklund shows her great abilities both as a Singer and as a Concert Organist. The album contains French and Swedish music. Ingegerd Björklund has even included her speciality - organ improvisation. Ingegerd Björklund sings and accompanies herself at the organ at the same time. Music critics have used the word "superb" to describe Ingegerd Björklund's album Voix Céleste.
