Ingegerd Björklund
is a PhD, an Opera Singer, a Music Director, an Author and a Painter, who works world-wide. She holds seven Academic degrees from her studies in Sweden, London, Rome and Vienna. Ingegerd Björklund has been called "the most unique Soprano in the world", because she is not only an excellent singer, but also a fine pianist and a marvellous concert organist with organ improvisation as her speciality. Ingegerd Björklund sings in 26 languages. The largest audiences she has had in China, where a billion people could listen to her singing, even in Mandarin, on the national TV. In the legendary Carnegie Hall, New York Ingegerd Björklund wrote history as she, as the first Soprano even accompanied her recital by herself on the grand piano. In Westminster Abbey, London Ingegerd Björklund has proved that she is both an extra ordinary concert organist and a great singer. At many occasions she has represented Sweden abroad and she became the first Swedish singer to perform both in Seoul, South Korea and in New Delhi, India. In Seoul she even sang in the Korean language, as well as she has been performing in Japan, singing in Japanese. As the only Swedish artist Ingegerd Björklund sang, even in Greek, at the Official Closing Ceremony in Thessaloniki, Greece, as the Cultural Capital of Europe was taken over by Stockholm. It can also be mentioned that among other great cities Ingegerd Björklund has been performing in Buenos Aires, Argentina, Montevideo, Uruguay and Quito, Ecuador. She has sung with many orchestras arround the world and a great number of her performances have been broadcasted on TV and radio.
1. The Irresistible - Christina Nilsson
The Swedish singer Christina Nilsson (1843-1921) commenced her career as a poor fiddler girl, performing at market places. One day she was "discovered" and offered education. 21 years old she made a very successful debut in Paris, creating Violetta in Verdi's La Traviata.The whole musical world was open for her and she even sang as The Metropolitan Opera House in New York was inaugurated. According to the composer Peter Tchaikovsky Christina Nilsson was the best singer of her time.

Ingegerd BJörklund's research, focusing on Christina Nilsson, has resulted in the doctoral dissertation The Compelling. A Performance-Oriented Study of the Singer Christina Nilsson and the album Ingegerd Björklund sings from Christina Nilsson's repertoire.
Dr. Ingegerd Björklund offers great shows entitled The Irresistible - Christina Nilsson, where she tells interesting episodes from Christina NIlsson's dramatic life and sings songs from the elder singer's repertoire. Ingegerd Björklund has presented these very popular shows from Stockholm to San Francisco. The appearances can also include Ingegerd Björklund's art exhibitions on the same theme.
2. Composing Swedish Women / Tongivande svenska kvinnor
is a brand new project, which commenced with a new album in September 2022. It has to be noted that Ingegerd Björklund sings to her own piano accompaniment on this album - a LIVE RECORDING.
With this album Ingegerd Björklund will focus on some Swedish women, who have played important roles in the gender history. Elfrida Andrée became the first cathedral organist in Europe. In 1867 she got the position in Gothenburg. The first Swedish born woman to get her own opera played was Ingeborg von Bronsart, with a first performance in Germany. The first Swedish female composer to conquer the Royal Theatre in Stockholm was Helena Munktell. Laura Netzel played an important role both as a composer and as an organiser of public concerts in the Swedish capital. Three Swedish authors are represented on this album - Fredrika Bremer, who pledged for women rights, Wendela Hebbe, who became the first employed Swedish female journalist and the first female Nobel Prize Laureate in Literature, Selma Lagerlöf. Even a song by the renowned Swedish Opera Singer Christina Nilsson is included on the album, as well as three songs by the Swedish Princess Thérèse.

3. With liberal voice - Wendela Hebbe
In connection with Dr. Ingegerd Björklund's participation at Bokmässan in Gothenburg in September 2022, the International Book Fair, regarded as the largest annual cultural event in the Nordic countries, her book about Wendela Hebbe (1808-1899) was published. Wendela Hebbe lived a very dramatic life and she had to face a lot of difficulties, but she was a survivor, who wanted to change the situation for women at her time. Dr. Ingegerd Björklund offers great shows, focusing on this unique lady. Björklund sings songs by her or composition made by people in her nearness. Included are also Ingegerd Björklund's art exhibitions on the same theme.
4. Nobel Resound
Dr. Ingegerd Björklund has spent many years of research, trying to find out more about some members of the Nobel family. Certainly Alfred Nobel is renowned world-wide for the prestigues prizes in his name, but he and his family had to face many difficulties before the great innovator of dynamite became one of the richest men in the world. In her shows Ingegerd Björklund tells about Immanuel Nobel, who was an innovator of sea-mines and his sons Robert, Ludvig and Alfred. After a number of successul years in St. Petersburg Immanuel Nobel faced financial problems and he had to return to Sweden, while Ludvig remained in the Russian capital, where he started a large industry. One day he sent his elder brother to Caucasus, to find some special wood for him, which he needed in his factory. Unfortunately Robert was not successful, but instead of wood he bought a piece of land, which contained oil and that was the beginning of a huge oil industry, which was going to involve the three brothers. Robert spent many years in Baku, working with the constructions of the oil industry, while Ludvig remained in St. Petersburg and managed the business, later called BRANOBEL. Alfred was a great innovator and a few years after he had innovated the dynamite, he settled in Paris. He worked around the clock, but his successes did not include love.
Dr. Ingegerd Björklund presents very interesting shows, where she tells episodes from the lives of some members of the Nobel family. Dr. Björklund has concluded her recordings of a new album, entitled Nobel Resound, where she, to her own piano accompaniment, sings songs based on lyrics written by some Nobel Prize Laureates in Literature. Here you can find some songs by the first Nobel Prize Laureate in Literature, Sully Prudhomme, as well as a song composed by Rabindranath Tagore, which Ingegerd sings in Bengali! Among other Nobel Prize Laureates can Gabriela MIstral, Nadime Gordimer, Paul von Heyse, William Butler Yeats and Sir Winston Churchill be mentioned. Several Scandinavian Nobel Prize Laureates in Literature are included, like Björnstjerne Björnson, Selma Lagerlöf, Verner von Heidenstam, Erik Axel Karlfeldt and Pär Lagerkvist. The album Nobel Resound will be released in December 2023. In her shows Ingegerd Björklund will include some of them. She also offers her own art exhibitions on the Nobel theme. A new international film is coming up, as well as a new book.

Dr. Ingegerd Björklund has had the possibilty to do an extensive research in the Bernadotte Library at the Royal Castle in Stockholm. She has found very interesting compositions, which were composed by a KIng, a Queen, Princesses and several Princes. Some of the music Ingegerd Björklund has recorded and it can be found on the album Bernadottemusik.
In cennection with the celebrations of The Swedish King Carl XVI Gustaf's anniversary in September 2022 a new album with Swedish Royal Music was released, entitled "500-årigt VASA-lopp". Dr. Björklund sings to her own piano accompaniment and she has even composed some songs, based on lyrics by Kings, Queens and a Prins. Both recordings are very unique!
Ingegerd Björklund offers great shows based on the Royal musical theme and she sings songs from the above mentioned albums. Between her musical numbers she tells interesting episodes from the Bernadotte history. Ingegerd Björklund also offers her own art exhibitions on the same theme. A book is planned.
6. Offer - Dag Hammarskjöld
He was one of the most renowned Swedes ever, working for peace in the world. Unfortunately his very important work as the UN Secretary General was ended a dark night in the heart of Africa. Dr. Ingegerd Björklund has spent several years of research, trying to find out more about Dag Hammarskjöld. His dairy Vägmärken has been very important in the search for the man behind the words. Dr. Ingegerd Björklund has given many performances, focusing on Dag Hammarskjöld and she always sings songs in connection with her presentations. For Dag Hammarskjöld the fine arts were very important. Ingegerd Björklund has showed many of her own art exhibitions, based on Dag Hammarskjöld's words. A new book is planned.
7. Northern Lights
is a very popular programme, based on songs from the Nordic countries. Songs by Edvard Grieg, Jean Sibelius and Swedish composers like Wilhelm Peterson-Berger, Emil Sjögren, Gustav Nordqvist, Helena Munktell, Laura Netzel and Elfrida Andrée will be included. With this programme Ingegerd Björklund has given recitals in some of the most prestigues concert halls in the world, including The Carnegie Hall, New York and The Royal Festival Hall, London. At present Ingegerd Björklund is recording a new album with some of the songs which use to be included on her amazing programmes.
8. Unlimited
is another programme which Ingegerd Björklund has performed with great success around the world. It can include songs in Mandarin, Japanese and the Korean language, as well as songs by the major European languages. The variations are innumerable and Ingegerd Björklund has appeard in many interesting variations of the programme on her round-the-world-tours. The programme can also include organ music.
